Expectation 预期
McDonald’s takes great pride in serving its customers around the world every day with safe and quality (see 7.20) products. The ability of McDonald’s suppliers to consistentlydeliver safe and quality products that meet our requirements, as well as all applicable laws and regulations (see 7.1), is of critical importance to the continued success of the McDonald’s System. This document is intended to identify McDonald’s expectations with respect to our suppliers’ quality (including food safety) management systems (see7.21). It is based on ISO 9001, ISO 22000, PAS 220 and McDonald's specific requirements (see 8). These expectations focus primarily on the results that must be achieved and are not designed to be prescriptive. Details can be found in the SQMS Guidance Document. McDonald’s reserves the right to periodically update these expectations.

McDonald’s suppliers shall proactively work with McDonald’s to enhance customer satisfaction through continuous improvement (see 7.3). This document is not intended to replace or supersede any terms and conditions of the Business Relationship/Confidentiality Agreement (“BRCA”) previously entered into, between McDonald’s and its respective suppliers. Accordingly, to the extent any of the expectations identified in this document contradict or conflict with the terms and conditions of the BRCA, the terms and conditions of the BRCA shall supersede and control. Further, McDonald’s suppliers worldwide must comply at all times with McDonald’s Code of Conduct. Suppliers are responsible for all costs and expenses they may incur in complying with these expectations. Compliance with these expectations does not guarantee approved supplier status or any business relationship with McDonald's.

Guideline 指南
Conducting a SQMS audit requires the use of an auditor who is well versed in McDonald's expectations with regards to quality management. Quality management in this audit specifically addresses how a supplier would establish systems to assure food safety and provision of expected product quality. In this document under Guideline, direction is given to assist the auditor in evaluating whether the facility meets or does not meet the expectation. It is highly recommended for the auditor to use the Guideline as a guideline and not a policy. As an example where in the Guideline reference is given to distances for pest monitoring equipment, this exact value need not be used, but an appropriate distance based on the guide. 进行审计要求有一个精通麦当进行审计

As defined in the scope above, SQMS is built up of other standards. Therefore, the auditors must be familiar with the above mentioned international standards. Also the guidelines in the ISO 19011 should be referred to for quality and/or environmental management system auditing and ISO 22003 for food safety management systems. There are specific guidance within these standards that should be referred to, such as FTE (Full Time Equivalence) in ISO 22003 in order to calculate the audit duration.

Pre-audit consultation with the facility is recommended to assure the facility is aware of the systems to be reviewed and the availability of relevant staff. It is also highly recommended to try and conduct the audit while McDonald's product are in production.

Traceability is of high importance and it is advisable to gather the relevant records of the control sheets from the manufacturing floor first and then carry out the traceability exercise. In that front, experience shows that 60/40% split between factory floor and documentation is often workable and achieves superior results. The SQMS audit aims to cover all sections of product quality and food safety, by looking at the facility and its personnel, to note how they manage their quality system. It is their practices and documentation that would provide the evidence for the verification process. The audit is a picture in time, however, it is envisaged that this one picture can be used to define the complete story.
